Your real estate business began with one… more specifically in began with you, and it began with your very first client.
Things get tricky in our heads when we forget about the “one” and begin to get addicted to volume. When we measure our success by the size of our email list, the number of Facebook followers we have AND the amount of production we’ve done.
Now don’t get me wrong, volume is an important metric for growth BUT it must be viewed and analyzed through the lens of “a collection of ones.”
Because if you are in sales you are in the people business AND last I checked people don’t like being treated as though they are a numerical value.
Today on various sites on social media, I am encouraging us all, no matter our stress levels, ambitions or anxieties to remember “our first one” 😍
Your first real estate client or your first sale.
How did it feel? That person was special to you right? I hope so.
But in reality the 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 101st person is just as special, their provision and their relational value is just a beautiful, just as vital and just as wonderful as that very first one.
Celebrate every person you’ve ever done business with. Even the tough, dishonest, impatient, rude and downright degrading ones… because you learned something throught the process (not to work with these people hopefully ;-))
